SSDL NewsFlash: GEETER BEATS RICE @ EASTBAY 7428 SHOOT-OUT!

July 20, 2020

Geeter Makes Fried Rice at Eastbay 7428 Shoot-Out

Laker Studio Host Comes Back from 15 Down to Advance to Final Four

90045 - Los Angeles Laker studio host Chris “Geeter” McGee knows full well the story of the epic Laker basketball comeback in the 7th game of 2000 Western Conference finals against the Portland Trailblazers.  Down 15 points in the fourth quarter, the Lakers staged a historic comeback, exclamation point provided by the Kobe to Shaq alley-oop, advancing to win the first of Kobe’s five NBA titles.  Like his favorite team, and friend Kobe, the #1 seeded McGee survived a thrilling and spectacular matchup that saw several lead changes and a new record amount of votes.  Geeter engineered, with an “alley-oop retweet” from a friend, to come back from a deep deficit and defeat #GirlDad Scott Rice 53% to 47% and advance to the semifinals of the Eastbay 7428 Shoot-Out.

The event matches up Sports Stories with Denny Lennon (SSDL) video podcast guests pre-interview basketball shots against one another in a 12-team single elimination tournament.  The championship team (guest and charity) of the event, which will conclude on August 7th, will receive a $1000 Eastbay gift card for the charity.

The next quarterfinal, which runs from 12pm (PT) July 21st to 12pm (PT) July 23rd, may very well be the most heated matchup of this or any round of the event.  #4 seeded Mike Boehle (MB), teamed with My Stuff Bags as his charity, is an accomplished volleyball player with a professional beach tournament win and two Venice Backyard Championships.  As a coach, he was won multiple region, state and national titles.  He may be facing his biggest challenge to date in Eastbay 7428 Shoot-Out quarterfinals, LA City Section and Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame inductee, sportscaster Randy Rosenbloom.

Rosenbloom, who has partnered with Make a Wish as his charity for the tournament, raised concerns in an opening round post matchup interview about a potential controversy in the matchup against BoehleRandy suggested that MB’s charity, My Stuff Bags, who’s CEO Janeen Lennon Holmes is sister to the tournament host, combined with the fact that MB is the cousin to the Lennon family, will create a major disadvantage for him.  The post matchup accusatorial tirade is a must watch and available for free at www.patreon.com/DennyLennon.  The Patreon link is also available at www.SportsStoriesPodcast.com.

All quarterfinal and subsequent matchups will continue to take place on twitter @SportsStoriesDL, one vote per matchup per supporter.  Links to the SSDL video podcast interviews of each of the quarterfinalists have been included below, which will further educate our twitter followers and Eastbay 7428 Shoot-Out legion of fans.

Winners of the quarterfinal matchups will appear July 24th and July 31st on the SSDL5 YouTube Live Friday “Happy Hour Show” to promote their team accomplishment of making the “Eastbay 7428 Shoot-Out Final Four”.
