April 3, 2020
90045 - Two-time Kentucky Derby winning horse trainer Doug O’Neill will break from the gate, well, maybe his front gate at his home in Santa Monica, CA, as part of the line-up for tonight’s Friday Facebook Live at Five (FBL5). The virtual show, which broadcasts live at 5:00pm (PST) on the Sports Stories with Denny Lennon (SSDL) Facebook page, will also include author Eric Nusbaum from Tacoma, Washington, recording artist Kipp Lennon from Venice, CA and veteran’s advocate Mike McKay from Wyandotte, Michigan.
O’Neill, who trained, among many horses, I’ll Have Another, the 2012 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner, will bring the audience up to speed on the current state of horse racing in the coronavirus era. Nusbaum, a Culver City High School grad now living in Tacoma, has authored a book, Stealing Home, about the construction of Dodger Stadium in the Chavez Ravine and the lives caught in-between. Lennon, a long time recording artist and lead singer with the band Venice, will relive times performing in major sport stadiums, while McKay, the founder of The Hero’s Movement, will provide an update on the organization that provides free athletic training to veterans of the armed forces suffering from mental or physical trauma.
And We’re Off!
